This regime is crazy if they think the average white american is going to stoop over in the sweltering heat to pick tomatoes or cotton like the hard working, underpaid brown workforce that farmers have been relying on, (I guess this is where they bring back child labor). And I got news for them. There are some things that can't be automated without doing damage to the crop. Unless every American learns to grow their own food... we're fucked!!!

First, all those able bodied adults using Medicaid? Lots of the HAVE JOBS. They just make so little they’re still eligible.

Next, if “average white Americans” WERE willing to do farm labor… they don’t LIVE in the areas that grow vegetables. How’s that gonna work? Will the govt pay for housing there for the entire family. And to transport them all there (and back- when those crops ripen)? And provide free schooling there where they now live? Free childcare for younger kids, infants, and before and after school?

Those Trump tribe talking g points are just that- bs talking points, with no practical context. No way to make it happen. Total.Idiots- as are their believers.

Don’t think we’re going to have elections again😡👺It actually is in project 2025. Do you think Donald Trump would be destroying this country and all the people in this country if he was gonna allow us to vote them out? Hell no! Before the midterms next year, he will create chaos and he will declare martial law so that he can cancel the election.😡😡👺

I completely agree. I believe this is what the billions of dollars to increase trump's secret police was for. To stop protests and prevent elections. I wish everyone could see this coming a mile away like we do. What's wrong with the f'ing GOP?

I agree with you, Rosemary. Project 2025 is being implemented. If you want to know what’s going to happen next, get a copy of Project 2025. It is all there. What’s not understandable right now is whether we are headed for a theocracy or an electoral autocracy like the one in Hungary. All told, we certainly have a kakistocracy now.

Trump or his not/quite-so-reality-impaired replacement JD Vance. Yes, slavery looks like a definite possibility to me based on historical precedents from various parts of the world and the escalating removal of our civil rights.

They’re talking about putting the kids to work and the people who get Medicaid to work to replace the Mexicans that they kidnapped out of the Farm fields! and now they’re talking about putting those Mexicans that they kidnapped back out in the fields only without pay this time! Wait, isn’t that slavery again?😡😡😡😡👺👺👺👺👺

Yes it certainly is. Slavery is absolutely not something great about America’s history as far as I’m concerned.

I’m really surprised about how nobody seems to react to stop all this madness. In the USA and in the EU, it’s like a lot of “normal” people were waiting for the inevitable collision with the real world. They are not aware of the dimensions of the damage to be inflicted upon millions of people. No to mention

the damage already done in the few months of Trump’s mandate.

I've recently lost a friend to the madness. He blamed California's fires on Trump's suggestion that they SHOULD have cleaned out the dead shrubbery in the forest to prevent fires. I don't know what to say to complete stupidity. "Trump does what he says he going to do" screeches my friend and the democrats do nothing!

True statment I think, but what Trump does is steal. A theft so grand, your grandchildren will be burdened with the debt I say to the friend who has disconnected from reality. The world has shifted. Up is down, right is wrong, and no one cares to invest the time to diagnose the morality of the idiot in the oval office.

Maybe there is no point to living. Just a cycle of dreaming of better vs. the grind of an unforgiving world, generation after generation. Everyone desperately clutching their wallets and go on about their lives, hoping the doom that surrounds them will pass without their involvement.

All I know is that I hate what Donald Trump and his ilk emulate. The righteous pomposity of being better, deserving more, expecting the world to applaud and even celebrate their self-serving actions. I always thought this country at it's core, held the value of human spirit higher than the accumulation of immense wealth.

I fear I'm wrong. Like my friend, people at large might be too lazy, or too stupid, or too scared to follow a path destined for the wellbeing of everyone. How else could we have gotten here?

We are at an inflection point in history. Science/technology has advanced to the point that we could make the world a place in which almost all would have guaranteed shelter, food, health care and the freedom of opportunity (perhaps the greatest freedom of all). We could avoid the impending climate catastrophe, finally admit that all people are people and no tribe should dominate, that with cooperation and sharing there is enough. But we are still unable to educate people away from the past follies. We may have lost the race between education and reason with catastrophe. Ben Franklin worried that moral science might not keep pace with technology in 1780, and the wolves in our nature (pre evolution as a theory) would not keep pace. But, I will not give up hope for progress. That leads to the dark side. This battle has been described since civilization began to keep records. At least we can remain hopeful and work together to try to keep hope alive. Just that actions alone brings light and hope. We will not see the end of this phase in the development of civilization. At least we can work with civility and compassion.

So we round up all the "so called" able bodied work force on Medicaid and ship them, house them, and feed them. Probably put them in work camps to take the load off. WOW. That reminds me of something, just can't put my finger on it.

I don’t see how we can expect people on Medicaid that are sick in a lot of cases go out and pick fruits and vegetables. That is back breaking work. Hey grandma get out of the nursing home and go pick cucumbers so you can pay for your keep. Yeah that works.

Very well written. One of the few documents I have read that points out the total cost of the deportation of immigrants. The lost of production, payment of taxes, payment into Social Security and Medicare (which they will never draw) and their spending which provides jobs in other sectors. Forcing Medicare recipients into forced labor is one the most ignorant statement that has come out of this administration. I guess this approach, legalizing slave labor, to solve a self-inflicted problem is what you would expect out of this administration.

I’m afraid we’re going to have to go through absolute hell for this MAGA fever to break. The majority of his voters are so intractable and backward in their thinking that until hell itself rains down on their OWN heads, we won’t be able to move forward. No logic or facts seem to penetrate their sick, twisted world so they’re going to have to learn the hardest way possible. Sadly, the rest of us are stuck in their clown car with them.

Such BS. Farmers are laughing at these statements. First of all, only extremely large farms could afford to move to mechanized picking of crops. Mini crops are not able to be picked by machines most people on Medicaid already work in those who don’t are too old, too young or disabled. When Clinton did welfare to work program, farmers signed on for that program. No one showed up. Americans don’t want to pick crops. It’s hard, low paying work fruit crops have already been rotting on the ground.

I agree, no white people will ever do this work or any job that the hardworking immigrants were doing. Our economy, food sources and everything is being destroyed and what will they do then when no one is willing to take these jobs? We will suffer for their hate and dehumanization.

She is not talking about immigrants. The regime makes a big noise about “solving” an “immigrant problem” because it needs sufficient time to get the necessary police state apparatus in place before a potentially restive public can wake up and start to resist. It only pretends that all the labor camps and secret police forces they are creating are just for “immigrants”.

But the secretary blurted out the truth— the population of their gulag will be a slave labor resource.

When ICE comes for the rest of us, don’t expect to be sitting in prison with nothing to do. Expect to be driven into the fields and put to productive use.
