Yesterday Trump crossed the rubicon and the American people are about to start flying blind when it comes to imperative statistics that govern monetary policy.
He sacked the head of the Bureau of Labour Statistics because he did not like the job numbers. Of course he did his usual and defamed her making her a target for the far right nut jobs too. This is beyond despicable.
We are now truly moving into the arena of autocratic control. Public broadcasting has been assassinated, the chair of the Federal Reserve is being hunted and those that produce key statistics that help provide guidance for US fiscal policy are being removed.
It doesn’t matter who you are, this last move is like your partner hiding your mail to hide his gambling addiction because the house has been foreclosed on and he doesn’t want you to know. It will not stop you losing your house, you just don’t know on what day it will happen.
The U.S. has just moved into a new world of dangerous illusion and I cannot stress how catastrophically dangerous this is.
If you think it will stop here, you need to seek medical help. He wants to replace Jerome Powell for exactly the same reason. Once he is able to manipulate key statistical data to extend his delusional altered universe, the U.S. is in even bigger trouble than it is today.
I find it impossible to articulate just how serious this is my friends. The gravity of what could happen if he’s given the ability to falsify public statistics is beyond comprehension.
The truth is, you can make this stuff up, but it won’t stop people losing their jobs, it won’t stop companies bleeding profits it will simply pull the rug over the truth until eventually the whole building will collapse as the truth comes knocking.
America had never been in a more precarious position and I’m so sorry this is happening at a time when the political opposition is largely in self preservation mode.
Once he controls the job and inflation numbers and controls interest rates through proxy appointments, it’s all over I’m afraid. Him and his people are going to fiscally gang rape the population without so much as finger wagging from the judiciary.
